WHAT THEY WANTED
A multi-media campaign to increase support for fair housing in a metro area with a history of racial polarization.
WHAT I DELIVERED
I created non-racial metaphors (prospective homebuyers in “Alphabet Acres” denied “just because they were vowels”) and a campaign theme designed to broaden fair housing’s perceived constituency: Fair Housing Works for Everybody.
HOW PEOPLE RESPONDED
Former Richmond Mayor Henry Marsh at the campaign kickoff event: “You’ve brought the cause of fair housing in Richmond forward by at least a decade.”
